FAQs
I've never been to therapy. What's it like?
Every individual is unique and receives therapy based on their needs. Some people prefer talk therapy while others may benefit from engagement in art, meditation, or psychoeducation methods. By working with a professional, those seeking assistance to move forward in their lives gain an opportunity to work through a variety of approaches to find the best fit. One of the goals of therapy is adding tools to your skill set that can be utilized once the therapeutic process is complete. Arkane Counseling emphasizes a trauma-informed, culturally inclusive approach incorporating a range of strategies to address substance use, domestic and intimate partner violence, post-DUI education, and anger management.
How long will my therapy last?
Individual counseling sessions typically last for about 1 hour. The length of time you will receive services is based on a therapeutic collaboration which is ultimately guided by your needs. We strongly value autonomy and understand that addiction is not always a linear process.
I’m having an emergency, what do I do?
When experiencing an emergency, when feeling like you are in danger, or being dangerous to yourself or others, dial 911 or immediately go to the nearest hospital emergency room.
Do you offer Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)?
We do not offer Medication Assisted Treatment but can help connect you to local providers who may be able to assist.
